A beehive couldn't be any busier than it was at my house today.  So many people that we could barely keep from bumping into some one.  And the poor painter on his ladder trying to work around the activity.  A cleanup crew is working to get the bedrooms clean so we can move things into them.

I have a refrigerator and beverage fridge that are installed but doors that need to be reordered because the size is off.  Handles on all the cabinets so that I can open them.  Temporarily installed sink and faucet, sans cold water.  Some problem that the plumber can hopefully figure out on Friday.  Dishwasher still sitting out on the deck but he should be able to install.  Cook top as you can see in the photo above.  We were able to install it because the cook top does not get hot only the pans get hot.  I have one oven installed right now and the second one should go in on Friday or Saturday.  It's a micro/speed oven combination, going to need to read those directions.  And of course as you can see in the picture a coffee maker.  We are set, take your time Fox Marble.

Morgan and I spent all afternoon picking up dragging items.  Stainless Steel door for the glass door on the beverage fridge, missing part for the bathroom faucet, handles at the cabinets shop and a trip to Best Buy to pick up a modem that can be used with Comcast so we don't have to rent one from them.  They are supposed to turn the service on at the house on Friday.  I sure hope it works as the Magnolia guys are going to program everything on Sunday, lighting, computers, stereo and TVs.

5 work days left until we have to move in.  There is still a mess everywhere but they are working on the final details.  Waiting for electrician and plumber to finish installing fixtures etc.

Carpenters are adjusting cabinets, installing handles and a myriad of other small details.

Tomorrow the A/V team shows up to install speakers, sound system, etc.

Getting the plumber to install a temporary kitchen sink so we can cook and use dishwasher.

Bought my stainless steel pots and pan from the restaurant supply so that I can use my new induction cooktop.  Of course it probably won't be hooked up for a while but I will be ready.

I've already washed two loads of laundry.  Can't wait to have this at my disposal instead of hiking downstairs to the laundromat in our building.

Week 33 Thursday

Okay, 11 days and counting.  We had to give 30 days notice at the apt we are renting down the street.  We certainly thought that it would be done but, alas.  One little mess up leads to delays down the road.  The cabinets were late getting here so we couldn't get the marble people out to measure.  Everyone wants their job done by Thanksgiving so really busy.  I don't even know when they are going to install mine, I'm still waiting to hear back from them.  We will make it work some how.  Be nice if the doors for the bathrooms would arrive though.  Thank god I put in the infinity drains because there are no shower doors either.

So it really is never easy.  These lights come in 3" and 4" and they recommended that I use the 4" because of my ceiling height. A little detail they missed is that the flangeless beveled edge does not cover the opening and now as you can see we see the inside of the fixture which is not a pretty picture.  Talked to my rep who talked to her rep and they suggest that I add a sandblasted glass lens at $20 a pop.  I let them know that I was definitely not happy about this.  Now let's see what they do about it.

Every room looks like this if not worse.  The mess never goes away it just gets bigger.  Please work faster!

Week 32 Saturday

Things are happening fast now.  There are three people working today, I like it!  Laid out the tile with Wang this morning for the master bath and the guest bath.

Week 32 Friday

The Fox installers showed up with the marble/tile for my guest bathroom yesterday and could not get it into the room.  When I went to talk to them I found out that they had also make several cuts in the stone for the right side.  Then they suggested that they cut the stone on the left side to match one of the cuts on the right side so that they could get it in.  I was not happy about this.  I discussed this with my rep and we came up with another solution.  They left with my wall units and returned later with the tub decking for my master bath.  They will be back tomorrow with the material for my wall today.

Tile installation in the Living room will be done today.  He can also start on the Master bath when he is done in the LR now that the tub decking is in place.  I picked up the tile for the guest bathroom yesterday and they can start installing that once Fox get's the wall tile in place today.

Week 32 Tuesday

Fox Marble came yesterday and measured for  all the counter tops.  Took most of the day, a lot of details.  Now I hope it gets done and installed before we have to move in on the 30th.

Week 31 Friday

And bang just like that cabinets are in except for the laundry and finishing the hidden office area.  I love my installers.

They will be working tomorrow to finish up and add the counter tops for Monday.  Fox Marble will be there first thing in the morning to take measurements.  They say it will take all day.  They are coming back on Wednesday to install the marble/tile in the two bathrooms.

Once all the debris is out of the way the painters and electrician can come on the job to finish up their work.

Ordered this table today for the dining room with a grey oak top.    It is 112" x 44" and seats 12 people, our usual family get together.  I was going to have a marble table top but they can't get it up the stairs.  I do think this will look quite nice instead.

The 8' island is partially installed.  The floors were finished over the weekend.  The tile arrived today but I didn't order enough.  I placed a new order hope it is in stock.  They are working on the bathroom cabinets.
