Week 2 Friday
April 18th, 2014
It's 4 o'clock Friday afternoon when I stop by to check the progress. I'll let you judge for yourself if they are done.
Dining Room
Living Room
The place is a mess, I can't get past the entry as flooring is stacked everywhere. I squeeze between the framing to get into the den and out onto the porch so I can water my plants. It is a mess out there with plates of old food left by the workers. Surrounding this area are huge trees which overhang the deck. The two houses on that side have a lot of ground foliage and absentee owners. Rats love to hide in the ivy that is wild in one of the yards. My first image is of a deck teeming with rats looking for a treat. I find one worker inside who of course speaks no English.
As I leave I see that the stairs, elevator (which they are not supposed to use) lobby, and front of the house are covered with debris. I like my neighbors and the other owners in my building and I would like them to continue liking me but...this is not the road in that direction. It is Easter Weekend and I'm sure they would like to have a peaceful, non dust filled weekend.
When I get back out to the front. I find one worker with a push broom cleaning the debris in the front of the house. (I had asked him to sweep up when I came in.) He had practically drawn a line between my building and my neighbors front yard even though it too was filled with debris. I had to explain that he needed to clean that also. I certainly don't want anyone to get a flat tire from rusty nails lying around.
I sent the contractor a text to let him know what was going on. He called me a little later and told me he had sent them back to clean up.
Happy Holiday everyone! Back again on Monday with Week Three.
